A great quote, that is also very true.

"Weight loss isn't a sprint, it's a marathon."

  1. I agree, but I think I'm only up to a 5K vs. a Marathon....does that mean I only get a 20% weight loss? :)ALW65

  2. If you do 9 5K's then you have done a Marathon. I always thought marathons were like the Tour de France, multiple stages through the week? No one actually runs 26.2 miles straight, that's just a TV editing trick. lol

  3. That's very true. I am trying to look at it as a lifestyle change. I have been losing for about 6 months, and have at least 6-8 more to go to reach my goal of 90lbs. Old habits made me the man I was, and I still have some of those tendencies. It's very hard to change something you have done all your life, even after 6 months to a year.

  4. With my first diet in 2006, I gave up basically everything cold turkey and the diet only lasted 4-6 months. This time around I figured I would wean myself off some places and remove others completely. After about 6-8 months, it was no longer a diet but like you said its now a lifestyle change. I proved to myself I can lose weight and still eat some of the foods I used to love. Mon was my 1 year anniversary and its crazy how far I've come is such short of time. I just needed to keep reminding myself, the end goal is worth it. The extra years with my family, IS WORTH IT.
